The Title of This Year's Book of "On the Same Page in Lackawanna County" Is...

Free copies of the book will be available to any library cardholder who signs up to attend one of the book discussion groups (dates and times TBA), which will be held March 1st-April 11th in all libraries in the Lackawanna County Library System.

As previously announced, Tess Gerritsen will also be the first speaker of the 2011 Lackawanna County Library Lecture Series on Monday, April 11 at 7 PM.

New Database in POWER Library: Career Library


The Career Library is a career guidance product that offers students, counselors, teachers, and parents a centralized location to work together on career guidance. Five major components are available to help users match their interests to occupations, education prospects and more. Information is provided on over 2,500 occupations and nearly 4,000 2 and 4 year colleges and universities. This resource also contains an Occupational Video Library that is available in both English and Spanish.

Periodicals Room in Reference Will Be Closed From 9-11 AM Thursday, February 24th

The Periodicals Room in the Reference Department will be closed on Thursday morning, February 24th from 9 AM to 11 AM. During those hours, microfilm readers, photocopiers and computer printing will be unavailable to the public. Please keep this in mind if you plan to visit the Reference Department that morning.
