Favorite Christmas Stories

We're getting in the Christmas Spirit here at the library and got to talk about about our favorite Christmas stories and movies.  Here are few that the staff like to read and watch every year:

A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas

A Welsh poet recalls the celebration of Christmas in Wales and the feelings it evoked in him as a child.

Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life

A man is saved from a suicide attempt by an angel and is then shown how important he is to the people who love him. A Christmas classic.

The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry

A husband and wife sacrifice treasured possessions in order to buy each other Christmas presents.

Jim Henson's Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas

Emmet and Ma Otter enter a talent contest with the hopes of winning the cash prize just in time for Christmas, and learn that family, not money, is the greatest Christmas gift of all.

Santa Mouse by Michael Brown

Santa gives a nameless mouse a special gift for Christmas.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

Christmas is the perfect season for Clark Griswold and his family. Clark's a disaster waiting to happen. You have to see it to believe it. There are 25,000 lights on the Griswold rooftop. An exploding turkey. And a house full of relatives.

So, what are your favorite Christmas stories?
